happy sunday! 'tis the season for the great 2012 calendar hunt! i love shopping for calendars this time of year - there are so many good ones. and so the search begins with this amsterdam advent calendar by nouveau designs. i remember loving peeling open flaps on advent calendars when i was little - so satisfying and you couldn't wait for tomorrow.

dreamy watercolor calendar by flora douville. of course i'm partial to the august painting (my birthday month). the handwritten dates are great.

flora has a beautiful shop full of abstract drawings, calendars and photographs. i love the houses print, too! she has a free shipping option if you purchase three calendars of any style!

cute little matchbook calendars would make great stocking stuffers. letterpress is always a plus, too.

i'm sort of obsessed with all things "house." we've owned our little house for just over a year - at this time last year we hadn't even moved in because there was some heavy renovating happening. that's why i luff this 2011 poster calendar by michelle smith. how sweet it is to have a home to call your own.

what do you think about the dancing cat illustrations by jamie shelman? they are so cute and silly, i just can't get enough. i especially love the 2011 calendar. jamie has an etsy shop and one over at big cartel, too. 

lunar landscapes

i think i need to add a lunar calendar to the mix for 2011. top to bottom: phases of the moon calendar from the moma store is a classic, the vertical lunar phases calendar by sjaros comes in both northern and southern hemispheres, and the tiny showcase letterpress lunar calendar by alex thibodeau (with sea monsters and aliens!) would be cool in a boy's room.
