nice stuff from viva terra: handsome succulent wreath; wantwantwant two of these valencia teak chairs on my patio for summer chilling; and this starburst mirror is made from sustainably grown teak, saved from a boat builder's scraps.

spectacular. last week from tiny showcase a presentation of a "mildly factual, mostly fictitious, educational poster" with illustrations by ian dingman and writing by shea'la finch (co-proprietor of tiny showcase) and whose writing is tied (with the art) for best part of the weekly emails. click to make larger, more photos here.

gasp! a hanging hang out pod/nook thing! it's called a nestrest and i am in love. i don't have a tree in my yard, but maybe it would look nice in the corner of my living room.

pattern on pattern

i'm drawn to the zippy patterns in this place photographed by rachel whiting. the layers of patterns rejuvenate an otherwise classic space. i have to remember color or pattern in your home doesn't have to be so scary (or such a commitment)! and to do it well? layer it.

a touch of the rustic

not only do i wish a barn door would work in my house but i wouldn't mind living in each of these rooms. i live the touch of rustic in a modern setting. the white and wood above is a dream.

love the western/american indian vibe in this rug. and the antler chandelier is actually quite tasteful if you're going that route.

i swear i wasn't surfing blogland on a perfectly nice autumn saturday afternoon or anything, but i came across this style of midcentury bedside table twice in one day. i am now on the hunt in real life. a pair of these are exactly what i'm looking for.
