happy new year!

did you have a good 2010? i feel great about my year to tell you the truth. i had two resolutions and upheld both, (here's my favorite). we enjoyed our first summer in our little house, did some traveling, one of my besties got married, i participated in my first craft show, opened a new handmade shop, and we got a new kitten!

how will you be ringing in the new year? it's cold cold today in mpls, so i'll be bundled up when i go out tonight like these cozy bears by london illustrator julia pott.

thanks so much for checking in with me on my blog and etsy store, i really do appreciate your support. i'm ready and excited for what 2011 brings!

west elm, my sale hero

yo! just scooped up a few of these ceramic containers with wood lids for my dry goods today - on sale! who doesn't love a bargain? you can get them online with free shipping for the most part. i picked up two smalls and two talls for flour, sugar, coffee, etc and they look great in my kitchen. i really want a few of the big roundys, but what would i store in them when all the xmas cookies are gone?

west elm is running quite the post-holiday sale right now. apart from the containers i also picked up a small jute bouclé rug for in front of the kitchen sink (the kitty likes it) and this little gnome guy for cheep.

a word to the wise: lots of sale in store was an extra 20% off.

happy monday! hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend. slow posting this week so i can relax with my man and run lots of errands in the hourcar. perhaps some snowshoeing to work off some of those xmas cookies (a unique, varietal, seasonal delicacy in my book. worth it.)

just created my first treasury on etsy based on a few of my etsy taste test finds. i called it "soft, industrial space" with a whole schpeal about my dream loft. i think it turned out pretty good. and oddly enough, i think this is the new color inspiration for my bathroom remodel.

chicken posole recipe

i made this chicken posole recipe from real simple last night (from scratch! a first for me) and it was so good. the hint of lime and the fresh cilantro were the highlight, and it was really great with avocado. i impressed myself.
