personalized

wish these write a bikes were real. though it's not biking weather for most, minneapoliatans are a hearty folk and many brave the snow and cycle in the winter. we are the most bike-friendly city in the country, after all. perhaps some snow tires on one of these things and i'd be good to go.

craft show

shop local this holiday season at the world (craft) fair in northeast minneapolis, saturday december 11 from 10-6. i'll be there selling vintage-style pennants, gocco printed cards, paper garlands and perhaps a few other goodies (some sneak peeks this week).

i'm blogging from the northcountry on an extended thanksgiving visit to hang with the fam (our holiday meal was amazing - if you haven't enjoyed a brined turkey, i feel sorry for you); help mom redo the living room (we've already ripped out the carpet!) and hole up to work on stuff for the world (craft) fair (on dec. 11 in northeast minneapolis).

thanksgiving table

if my thanksgiving table could look like this, it would. earthy metallics and and beautiful blooms. top to bottom: metallic leaf dessert plates from west elm (now on sale); napkins done up with sweet charms as part of we like it wild's column on design*sponge; acorn bells by rak' designs could be nested along the table; drop dead gorgeous flowers and pumpkin whoopie pies for dessert via 100 layer cake.

i was listening to american routes this weekend on sam cooke, one of sm's favorites. labeled a "game-changer" sam was a crooner taken too soon.  we also enjoyed the american masters episode called sam cooke - crossing over. (go pbs/tpt!)

check out a wish list for home, the latest treasury in which pinkshirtsandcarwrecks "merch" is included. the set of three soup bowls is one of my favorite listings in the shop right now. this roundup, with it's soft colors (i'm loving that dusty coral-ish red right now), is beautiful!

oh how cute is this mini calendar by furze chan? her illustrations are so charming. (and look at her paper animal puppets.) check out the rest of her shop called with her animal poetry (also charming, of course).

moon + sun

sm has been watching a lot of carl sagen's cosmos lately, so these la lune and le soleil prints feel semi-appropriate to my evening soundtrack, i.e. background noise while i'm working on some exciting stuff for the world (craft) fair (that's coming up quick!). inspired by old school classroom charts and printing techniques, these prints are limited edition over at double merrick.

speaking of all things house, check out this amazing early american dollhouse from the 1800s over on 1stdibs. those faded colors are gorge. don't you wish, by some miracle, it would make it back to nancy allen's family?

calendar of the day

i'm sort of obsessed with all things "house." we've owned our little house for just over a year - at this time last year we hadn't even moved in because there was some heavy renovating happening. that's why i luff this 2011 poster calendar by michelle smith. how sweet it is to have a home to call your own.
