rent dutifully paid for seventy years

have you heard about this parisian flat that was locked up, untouched for seventy years? the woman who owned it left for the south of france before world war two, paid the rent and never went back. she died this year and officials discovered it, along with an unknown painting by giovanni boldini. it recently sold at auction for nearly three million dollars! the subject turned out to be the woman's grandmother, who was boldini's former muse and posed for him in 1898. the whole thing is so romantic!
