BRABUS Tuning for the Updated Version of the new Mercedes E-Class

Concurrent with the market introduction of the newly updated version of the Mercedes E-Class BRABUS (www.brabus.com) already offers an extensive tuning program for all E-Class models.

E 350: A displacement increase of the four-valve engine of the E 350 model to 4.0 liters bumps power output to 332 hp / 244 kW and peak torque to 420 Nm.

E 500: For the new four-valve V8 engine of the latest Mercedes E 500 model the BRABUS engine specialists have developed the BRABUS 6.1 displacement engine. It develops a maximum power output of 462 hp / 340 kW at 6,200 rpm, a peak torque of 615 Nm at 3,100 rpm.

Equipped with this engine the Mercedes E 500 exhibits markedly more temperament. Sprint time to 100 km/h is shortened to 4.8 seconds. In combination with the BRABUS V/max unit that eliminates the standard 250-km/h speed limit top speed increases to 305 km/h.

E 320 CDI: The BRABUS PowerXtra D6 (III) tuning kit unleashes the true power inherent in the V6 common-rail turbodiesel engine of the E 320 CDI - without sacrificing built-in safety reserves.

With BRABUS PowerXtra D6 (III) tuning power output jumps from standard 224 hp / 165 kW to 272 hp / 200 kW at just 3,800 rpm. Simultaneously peak torque grows from normally 540 Nm to 590 Nm. Performance is on a correspondingly high level: The tuned E 320 CDI sprints from 0 - 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds. The new top speed is 250 km/h.

Tyres: The choice of BRABUS tire/wheel combinations for the updated E-Class ranges from one-piece 8.5Jx17 Monoblock A wheels with general certificate to the high-tech version with 9Jx20 wheels on the front axle and 10.5Jx20 rims in the rear. This combination was custom-developed by the BRABUS suspension engineers for the new E-Class and is available with multi-piece BRABUS Monoblock V and VI wheels as well as with the new Monoblock S rims. As optimal tires BRABUS selected high-performance tires from Pirelli and Yokohama in sizes 245/30 ZR 20 in front and 285/25 ZR 20 on the rear axle.

Suspension: Extensive tests were conducted to develop sporty yet comfortable suspension solutions for the updated W/S 211 series. For the four- and six-cylinder models with conventional springs the BRABUS tuning program includes lowering springs or sport suspensions calibrated to the various vehicle weights.

For all air-sprung E-Class models BRABUS offers a suspension module that lowers the ride height of sedan and wagon by some 20 millimeters. BRABUS high-performance brake systems are available for the E-Class in three different versions.

Exterior: BRABUS also offers custom-tailored stainless-steel sport exhaust systems with two or four chromed tailpipes for all engine variants of the new Mercedes E-Class generation.

To add sporty emphasis to the elegant lines of the modified Mercedes E-Class - sedan or wagon - the BRABUS designers have developed an elegantly shaped aerodynamic-enhancement kit manufactured from Pur-R-Rim in OEM quality.

The production front bumper can be upgraded with custom-tailored BRABUS headlight inserts with two fog lamps and two high beams. In addition the designers have developed a front spoiler that reduces lift on the front axle and thus further optimizes directional stability at high speeds.

The BRABUS rocker panels give both body styles a longer, sleeker appearance and offer an interesting additional feature: Pushing a button on the keyless-entry remote or pulling on a door handle activates entrance lights integrated into the underside. They illuminate the ground on both sides of the E-Class for safe entering and exiting of the vehicle in the dark.

In combination with the BRABUS sport exhaust the strikingly shaped BRABUS rear apron, also available for sedan and wagon, rounds out the sporty yet elegant appearance.

Interiors: Luxurious and customized interiors are yet another BRABUS specialty. The list of options includes stainless-steel door sills, ergonomically shaped safety steering wheels with air bag and even an exclusive BRABUS fully leather interior handcrafted from a combination of especially soft yet durable BRABUS Mastik leather and Alcantara.

The BRABUS design team has further developed special covers for the backs of the front seats that extend all the way up to the headrests. These consoles are designed to house seven-inch LCD-monitors with 16:9 ratio and an integrated DVD player.

The World's Fastest and Most Powerful Luxury Sedan with 730 hp, 1,320 Nm and 340 km/h

With 730 hp / 537 kW at 5,100 rpm the BRABUS S V12 S Biturbo engine delivers superlative power. The same is true for its peak torque of 1,320 Nm at 2,100 rpm. In the car peak torque is limited electronically to 1,100 Nm. This extraordinary performance makes the V12 S Biturbo into not just the most powerful but also the fastest luxury sedan in the world: 0-100km/h in 4.0 seconds, 200 km/h after just 11.9 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 340 km/h.

Power is transferred to the real wheels via a modified five-speed automatic transmission. An optional BRABUS locking differential optimizes traction. All BRABUS powertrain components are operated exclusively with ARAL high-performance lubricants.

The BRABUS aerodynamic-enhancement concept is rounded out with the BRABUS rear spoiler lip and the rear apron with integrated LED lights and custom-tailored cutouts for the BRABUS sport exhaust with four tailpipes.

The enormous performance of the BRABUS S V12 S Biturbo is kept in safe control at all times by custom-tailored solutions for tires, brakes and suspension. These include BRABUS Monoblock light-alloy wheels with 20- or 21-inch diameters. Extensive tests demonstrated Pirelli and Yokohama tires in sizes 255/30 ZR 21 in front and 285/30 ZR 21 on the rear axle to be ideal.

The large wheels also create the necessary space to install the BRABUS high-performance brake system with 12-piston aluminum fixed calipers and 380 x 36-mm vented and cross-drilled discs in front, and 355 x 28-mm discs and six-piston aluminum fixed calipers on the rear axle.

Luxurious and highly customized interiors are yet another BRABUS specialty. The product lineup for the new BRABUS S V12 S Biturbo ranges from sill plates with BRABUS logo to ergonomically shaped safety steering wheels with airbag to an exclusive BRABUS interior crafted from especially soft yet Mastik leather and the finest Alcantara. The fastest luxury sedan in the world can be further refined with an exclusive state-of-the-art BRABUS multimedia package.

BRABUS also offers performance tuning for the S 600 and S 65 models. The list ranges from the T12 performance kit for 580 hp / 419 kW to the T 65 S performance tuning that boosts power output of the S 65 model to 715 hp / 526 kW.The enormous performance of the BRABUS S V12 S Biturbo place especially high demands on the vehicle's aerodynamic properties.

BRABUS - Mercedes R-Class

GERMAN tuning company Brabus presented its new range based on the controversial styled Mercedes R-Class. Highlights of the product lineup are the BRABUS 6.1 S with 445 hp for the R 500, with an aerodynamic-enhancement program, light-alloy wheels up to 22 inches in diameter with custom-calibrated suspensions, and individual interior options.

BRABUS Tuning for the new Mercedes R-Class

R 320 CDI – 272 hp Equipped with BRABUS PowerXtra D6 (III) tuning rated power output of the R 320 CDI increases from standard 224 hp to 272 hp at 3,800 rpm. At the same time peak torque grows from 510 Nm to 590 Nm. With the tuned common-rail turbodiesel engine the R 320 CDI sprints from 0 - 100 km/h in 8.2 sec. The new top speed is 227 km/h.

R 500 – 445 hp The eight-cylinder R 500 can be elevated to new performance levels in four BRABUS tuning stages. The most powerful of them is labeled BRABUS 6.1 S. In addition to the displacement increase of the V8 engine to 6.1 liters the three-valve cylinder heads are optimized for improved mixture flow and fitted with special camshafts. The conversion further includes a stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with metal catalysts. The result after the conversion: 445 hp at 6,000 rpm and an enormous peak torque of 635 Nm at 4,500 rpm. In BRABUS 6.1 S specification the Grand Sports Tourer delivers excellent performance: Just 5.9 sec for 0 - 100 km/h with a top speed of 265 km/h.

For a more sporty emphasis of the characteristic R-Class lines the BRABUS designers developed an aerodynamic-enhancement kit with front spoiler, precise-fit auxiliary headlight inserts for the front bumper and a rear apron with cutouts for the two dual chrome tailpipes of the BRABUS sport exhaust.

Just as important for a customized appearance are BRABUS Monoblock A, S and VI light-alloy wheels, which come in various designs with diameters ranging from 18 to 22 inches. The largest version for the new R-Class features BRABUS wheels in size 10Jx22 shod with Yokohama or Pirelli high-performance tires in size 265/35 ZR 22 in front and in size 295/30 ZR 22 on the rear axle.

The BRABUS suspension engineers developed sporty yet comfortable suspensions perfectly matched to the new tire/wheel combinations. BRABUS also offers high-performance brake systems for the new R-Class. The most powerful system, Version III, consists of 380-millimeter perforated discs and 12-piston aluminium calipers on the front axle. The rear axle features 6-piston calipers on 355-millimeter discs.

Luxury and individuality in the interior is another BRABUS specialty. The options range from stainless-steel sill plates with illuminated BRABUS logo to ergonomically shaped sport steering wheels to an exclusive BRABUS fully leather interior crafted from a combination of especially soft yet durable BRABUS Mastik and Alcantara leathers.

The BRABUS multimedia package is also available for the new model series. It includes DVD player, game console and LCD screens integrated into the back of the headrests. Upon customer request BRABUS can convert the new R-Class into a fully functional office on wheels with powered tables and a state-of-the-art computer system
