air plants! peaceful, a little pre-historic looking, easy to maintain (so perfect for those who never had a green thumb) and turns that little bowl or bottle into something useful.

etsy shop toHOLD is chock full of all kinds of air plants, some of which come with glass vessels.

tortoise loves donkey has these simple air plant terrariums that come in sets of three corked bottles. 

west elm carries hanging glass planters by shane powers perfect for air plants. so pretty in place of a pendant lamp over a dining table. 

lovely hanging air plant pods by mudpuppy would be just the thing for that empty corner.

i like today: doughnuts.

sure, cupcakes are hip and delicious but doughnuts are where it's at. my love for doughnuts started with imogene's antlers and continued when we would go for longjohn doughnuts when visiting my great grandmother, sneaking down to use the basement bathroom (you had to walk through the bakery kitchen) and rifle through the cake topper boxes. these days i like to keep mine simple and get them at the neighborhood bakery fresh from the oven: a warm and crispy cake doughnut with chocolate icing hits the spot every time. i'd even like to try my hand at making my own.
